Total Uganda and the Total Foundation Team Up With KAVC To Develop The Game Of Volleyball Among The Youth in Uganda

Total Uganda and the Total Foundation have announced the formation of a partnership with Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) to support youth in Uganda through a volleyball development programme at the Lugogo Indoor stadium in Kampala. The programme is aimed at imparting volleyball and life skills to holiday makers under the auspice of KAVC Annual Volleyball Holiday Clinic. The funding is aimed at technical support for the 8-week training programme.
In announcing the partnership, Total Uganda’s Managing Director Florentin de Loppinot said, ‘’The Total Foundation released financial support of 6 000 euros to KAVC to help strengthen the organisation’s Youth Development programme. The support will be especially targeted to scaling up sport activities across the age group of 12-21 years.’’
The Total Foundation’s project promoter, Ms Mary Florence Nannyondo, an employee of Total Uganda Ltd said, ‘’The benefits and support the Total group extends to its staff worldwide is commendable. The Total Foundation call, ‘You act, we help’, was a first in Total Uganda and I was very excited when I was notified that the project was chosen, for my club – KAVC – to continue developing the game of volleyball among youth in Uganda and promote better community health.’’
Mrs Diana Agaba Busingye, KAVC’s Vice President, applauded Total for the kind gesture, saying, “it’s having such partners on board that enables KAVC as a club to contribute to the growth of volleyball in Uganda and to fulfil its promise of championing better community health and behaviour through sport”.
